The crew began with a full tear-off down to the deck, re-nailing any loose wood before building up the new roofing system from the ground up.

- Finished the ridge with GAF Seal-A-Ridge ArmorShield II hip and ridge shingles
- Installed GAF StarterMatch and WeatherBlocker starter shingles along gutter lines, with GAF ProStart starter strip along rake edges
Underlayment & Ice Protection
- Installed GAF WeatherWatch Ice & Water Shield at all gutter lines and 3 feet up valleys
- Installed GAF FeltBuster Synthetic Underlayment across the full roof deck
Ventilation
- Installed 30 new GAF slant-back roof vents for proper attic exhaust
- Installed new bathroom exhaust vents and rubber pipe boots for all roof penetrations
Flashing & Trim
- Installed new valley metal throughout
- Installed new step flashing, dormer flashing, and LP SmartSide trim along roof-to-wall lines
- Installed new gutter apron along gutter lines and reused drip edge where gutters were not present
🛠️ Custom Chimney Metalwork
One of the standout features of this project is the custom metal chimney cricket, fabricated in-house by eRoof’s sheet metal shop. A chimney cricket diverts water away from the high side of a chimney, preventing pooling and leaks in a spot that’s notoriously prone to roof failures.
Rather than using a generic pre-formed piece, our metal shop built a cricket custom-fit to this chimney’s exact dimensions, finished to blend seamlessly with the new GAF Grand Sequoia shingles. This kind of custom fabrication is something many roofing companies have to outsource, but eRoof handles it in-house from start to finish.
