🏠 Project Overview

This Minnetonka metal roof installation features a Central States Horizon Loc standing seam system, a 16″ concealed fastener panel in 26 gauge steel. Standing seam metal roofing has no exposed fasteners to back out or corrode over time, sheds snow efficiently, stands up to hail and high winds, and carries a lifespan that far exceeds standard asphalt shingles. All custom metalwork on this project was fabricated in-house by eRoof’s own sheet metal shop.

The crew performed a full tear-off down to the deck, re-nailed any loose wood, and installed the complete new metal roofing system from the ground up.

Panels & Ridge

Installed Central States Horizon Loc 16″ concealed fastener standing seam panels in 26 gauge steel
Installed metal flat ridge cap along the full ridge line
Installed vented Z-flashing on both sides of the ridge to create ridge ventilation
Installed closure strips throughout

Underlayment & Ice Protection

Installed Resisto high temp ice and water shield at all eaves and 6 feet up from gutter lines
Installed UDL 50 synthetic underlayment across the full roof deck

Snow Management

Installed snow bars over all entryways and walkways to manage snow slide in winter

Flashing & Trim

Installed new valley metal throughout
Installed new drip edge on rakes and eaves
Installed new step flashing and dormer flashing at all roof to wall lines
Installed reglet flashing at stucco wall lines
Installed new chimney flashing and chimney saddle
Installed new rubber pipe boots on all exhaust penetrations
Installed LP SmartSide trim board at roof to wall lines

Woodwork

Completed wood repairs as needed during installation

Due to a recent hailstorm, we needed to have our roof replaced. After interviewing several roofing contractors, we chose eRoof to perform the work. Their representative, Garret H., presented a thorough plan for completing the work, assured us that he would coordinate with our insurance company as much as we required, and had a plan that would get the work done in just a few weeks. The eRoof bid was also in-line with other bids we had received to do the work. At the same time, we decided to upgrade our gutter system, which was the original one from 1959. The new system we chose included a cover to eliminate the need for gutter cleaning. We also needed to fix our chimney cap, which was falling apart in large chunks. eRoof also gave us competitive pricing for both projects and integrated that work into the overall work plan. The chimney cap replacement was completed first. That work began on a Monday and was finished the next day. The roof replacement happened on Friday, and the gutter system was hung the following Monday. All of the work was completed in an 8-day span. Throughout the process, Garret H. worked closely with our insurance adjuster to ensure that the new roof system met the current code requirements, with the insurance company agreeing to pay for the additional underlayment called for in the code regulations. The work crews were professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. The cleanup left the grounds in good condition. In conclusion, we are very pleased with the results in all three cases - the roof, the gutter system, and the chimney cap.
