Heat Cords
Protect Your Home from Ice Dam Formation – eRoof provides roof and gutter de-icing options.
Minnesota’s harsh winters often produce damaging ice dam formation resulting in expensive interior and exterior repairs. The purpose of heat cords is to prevent the formation of ice dams along roof edges, in gutters, and in tight roof spaces. eRoof provides (2) roof and gutter de-icing options.
1. For residential properties with moderate ice damming issues, we recommend rubberized 120V per foot heat cords. These will be installed along eaves, inside gutters, and up valleys to melt ice dams before they form. This option is available with a plug in or hardwired. Hardwiring may require the installation of a junction box by an electrician.
2. For residential properties with serious ice dam issues and commercial properties, we recommend 240V per foot heat cords. This option will provide a more robust system meant to prevent large ice dams along eaves, industrial gutters, and in valleys. Installation of a junction box to hardwire in the heat cords is mandatory for this option.
